1st September - What Slack Asses we are!!!!!!!!
Okay so I am very sorry for not updateing the website much over the last month, its been very busy, Jen is out in Florida living it up for her 21st B'day, I have been running the Vans Rococo Rail Tour and mainly been living in Abersoch as thats the base for Alliance. To fill you in on some major summer gossip Rob Moyle stood up and showed those Southerners a few thinks about balls! At the Newquay stop on the Vans Rococo Rail Tour Moyle was awesome, he blew Marc Rossi out of the water in an epic semi final and just got beaten by Matty C in the final, in the dark!!!!! Moyle went for a transfer that would have won him the contest but he just missed it!!! Big Balls and bags of respect to the boy (who has also started doing supermans on his MX bike!!!!!!!!).
Ride & Slide was a proper good do, I could not make it but eveybody spoke highly of it. Matty Royale with Cheese spun his way to victory in the Open mens, Chris Woodhead took first place in Pro and Jenna won the ladies event. Chris followed up his victory with a win at a similiar event over in Shefield! Good skills lad!

18th May 2008 - Junction 35.5 Re-Visited

So last night we re-visited Junction 35.5. We hadn't been there since the Alliance photo shoot which resulted in a front cover.
Let me assure you know that the water was a hell of alot warmer than it was in winter which made it all even more fun. Chris didnt have any ice in the water to put him off and he steped up and loved every minute of it.
One of main missions for returning to this spot was to try and hit two weirs at once. Since our last visit I had extended the rope on my winch to 600 foot. On arrival at the weirs I was greated with joy becasue the 600 feet was long enough to hit two weirs in one run. I sessioned it first and landed both drops on my second try. The first drop was a bit doggy becasue you had a very small run in to it but the second drop was perfect and you fly in to it at some serious speed, espically when solid had his fingers on the throttle.
Chris and Dave both dropped the weirs for the first time. Chris became the first rider to drop in riding switch, he did a half cap off it - sick!!!!!!!
The picture shows the 2 weirs we dropped. Happy Days, may the progression continue!!!!
6th May 2007 - Extreme TV News
'Northern Exposure' a documentry that follows the Northern Monkeys over a 6 month period of winching maythem is going to be shown on Extreme TV in July or August. 5th May 2007 - Northern Monkeys Update
Just a quick update on whats going on. Kent is working down at Grendon Lakes with Rich and Marie, Jenna has just got home from a 2 month trip to Florida, Beccy has gone the other way and is in Florida for 2 weeks at O-Town. Sold Jim is a cable bitch, he loves it, he has been riding loads at Sheffield and has stuck a tonne of whirly birds off the kicker and hoochies too. Johhny Farley is back from a year and a half of travelling around the world and is now working at Whitworth driving the boat and stuff. Buzz is busy supplying the UK with sick winches, Chris is working but when he has been riding he has been sticking all his moves and going bigger than ever (due to a shedding of a few pounds over the winter months). Moyle Boy has also been working too but was riding good out in Spain. Dave, Chris & Mia just did a Bank Holiday Weekend camping on an Island on Loc Lomond, it rained alot but the winch was used to its maximum I think. Tim Royal (Whitenosugar Productins) is curently on his way home from a filming trip to Everest Base Camp! Sorry if I forgot anybody!
4th May 2007 - Northern Monkey trip to Spain!
Before i start this bit of news I am sorry for the delay, we actually got home 2 weeks ago but I have just been very busy. I am also sorry for there not being a picture, but we were far too busy having fun to bother with taking pictures really!!
The Northern Monkey wakeboard holiday to xtreme-gene is now in its 4th year with over five trips arranged and two more in the pipeline it is becoming some what of a legendary trip. Before I fill you in on some of the details of our latest outing I should probably just apologise to Matt, Debbie & Andreas for the utter carnage we caused over the last two weeks.
The trip is 2 weeks at xtreme-gene, in the first week we had 14 people and 16 in following week. On paper the first week was going to be very messy and it fully lived to its expectations, the highlight being an outrageous fancy dress party for Dave and Becky’s Birthdays. Those poor local Spanish people witnessed superman, cross dressing, 118 people, nakedness everywhere they looked, piss games, ball sucking, scrotums sacks on fire, swimming races in the fountain and so much more I am beginning to think we might be gay (so I will stop writing)! We gave Jack the freight of his live one morning when he was getting the boat ready and spotted a man lying on the shore about 100 m away from the dock. It had rained all night and the man looked dead, he went and got Andreas and the two of them soon realised that it was Billy and that in his drunken state at 5am the night before he had decided to go fishing and fallen asleep, Muppet but very funny. Another amusing story from the trip was that we learnt that Solid Jim’s punch on Rob Moyle (that was documented in Alliance a few years ago) was definitely a total fluke. The full story shall remain in Spain though.
On the riding side of things the addition of a slider was a super bonus to an already pimp place. We awoke pretty much every morning to the boat drivers trying to get us down to the dock faster than our hung over heads really wanted. The wakeskate and two wakeboard boats would fill up with peeps and stay out till lunch time. This is proper wakeboarding, you and all your mates out in the boat for an hour to two hours having fun, egging each other on and trying new stuff. After lunch everybody would chill on the dock and take turns hitting the slider. The slider really got some abuse, Stu nailed it on his wakeskate first try (then went on the whip to celebrate and crashed into the bank), Beccy Hall’s slider skills went through the roof, and a lot people hit one for the first time. Once the slider sessions were over we moved back to the boats for more riding time. In general everybody rode 3 times a day (except Moyle) and there was plenty of progression on the wakeskate boat with Dave Knight and the Scottish Boyz. On one trip I took with them I was shown a Big Spin by Dave and Stu was landing on his board trying kick flips but just popping the handle, sweet! Mia stuck her first shuvit and Matt Royal was landing a new trick every day.
On the wakeboard boats young James Hooper was proving how talented he was with top class riding and a never ending desire to try new tricks, he is certainly one for the future. A lot of the Monkeys took a while to get into it having not ridden all winter but loved every minute of it. Moyle Boy took slam of the week with a nose digger on his way down from a 911 and Solid was a close second with a couple of Raley efforts. In fact now that I think about there was a lot of good slams, Beccy took a beast of a back edge on a 360 and some of James’s Crow Mobe efforts nearly killed him.
If the phrase ‘Wakeboard Trip’ was ever in a dictionary this trip would be its meaning, a load of good friend’s wakeboarding for no other reason than fun with all sorts of standards of riding all getting the same praise from the boat! There was so much more to the trip than I have written about but you really had to be there so that’s it. We are now planning a trip in September and another one in April or May next year so get in touch if you fancy coming northern-monkeys@hotmail.co.uk. Laters Tim

2nd April 2007 - Two new winch spots in as many days.
The real value of the Northern Wench Winch is truely shining at the moment. The Northern Wench Winch has been responsible for the hours, days and weeks of fun we have had making the Northern Exposure Documentry, it got the Northern Monkeys a front cover and eight pages in the latest Alliance Mag, it helped Lee find an awesome new spot out at Haverigg Beach and over the last two days we have found two new spots to ride!
The first spot we found was up at Haverigg, Matt Royle showed it too us. Its a quarry that has steep and high rock walls around it, making it flat calm when the Lake at Haverigg is fairly choppy. The area we set the winch up in, is like a sun trap and wind bloc, Matt was winching us with his top off it was that shelttered and warm. The quarry is a sick location, the water is a cyrstal blue and its very deep, around the edges of the quarry you can see about 6 old cars that have been sunk! Its mad its a bit scarey the first time you have to walk past the sunken cars but its a sick feeling when you start riding over them! The quarry spot has been named 'The Car Park' for fairly obvious reasons. You can't build a rail there cause its too deep but its brilliant for just wakeskating and trying new tricks and stuff. One of the best things about the winch is that you can rock up to a bit of water anywhere and wakeskate to any level as there is always new tricks to be learnt in the flats.
The second spot we found was at Fleetwood. We had already been for a recce and quick winch at Fleetwood Boating Lakes a couple of weeks ago but this time we went there and built 3 sliders making a small and extremely fun slider park. Dave and myelf (Tim) arrived at the Lake at about Midday. We meet up with some of local Kitesurfers who helped us all day. Two of the Kite Surfers, Ali and Mark had just returned from the First Stop of their Kite Surf Tour and had come 2nd and 3rd in the Pro Mens division. I am fairly stoked that Northern Monkeys are ruling in other sports too. I will try and get a bit more info from our Kitesurf friends this weekend and get some news up about them.
It took us about 2 hours to build the 3 rails. Dave had found a sweet metal hand rail that worked perfectly and we also re used some old pipes from the days of Pine Lake. We then had about a 3 to 4 hour session on the kicker / pipe rail, the little fun box and the metal rail. It was awesome fun. It was cool to see the kite Surfers trying the rails and loveing the Winch action and Dave and I buzzed off our new slider park. I had a few hits on the Wakeboard and Skate and Dave just Skated all of them.
We left the rails in the water and are returning for a big session on Saturday - if you reading this then your invited. So head over to the Boating Lakes on Fleetwood Promanarde.
Check out the Gallery for more pictures of these too spots. Hit the link at the top left of the page that says ' Northern Monkeys' to get to the gallery.
30th March 2007 - Northern Wench goes to Fleetwood
On Saturday 7th April the Northern Wench is going on a trip to Fleetwood. Why: Well, we are crossing into tricky waters here and mixing with our allies from the Kite Surf World. There is a Kite School and shop in Fleetwood called Hangtime, check out there website at www.hangtimekites.com
Alex and the guys that run the shop are sound as a pound and have worked some magic with the local council and have gained permission to use the boating lakes for some dirty Winch action. The location is pretty cool, their shop is on the beach front and pretty much next to the 2 boating lakes.
Over the Weekend of the 7th, 8th April Hangtime Kites have organised a small event. Its mainly aimed at the kite surfers and introducing people to that sport. We went winching with them all a couple of weeks ago and we all decided that it would be cool as fuck if while the festival was on we had the Northern Wench Winch on the boating lakes and let people try it out and have a good session ourselfves. There will be a slider of some sort too!
The plan is too spend all day at the boating lake, we will have a small stall set up and will be selling Northern Monkey clothes (that have just arrived in stock). The Winch will be running all day. Anybody can come down and have a go on it, we will be sessioning it all day, mainly wakeskateing I think.
It should be fun, if you fancy coming down then I will see ya there or give us a call for more information, 01772 252803 or northern-monkeys@hotmail.co.uk

11th Feb 2007 - Monkeys go winching weirs
After a heavy night out in Lancaster, the monkeys were ready to hit the Carnforth weirs. TImothy D Woodhead, Solid sanchez, Dave Knight and RaRa Brummy Dan Jordan were suited and booted. Buzz, designated Monkey Wench driver on the ready. The canal consists of huge drops, dropping down in to narrow space's with walls either side, bridges and stinky water. Most of the Monkeys turned up but wimped out and just pointed and laughed at solid and his start attemps. Also the dog walkers helped with the pointing and laughing.
Tim kicked off with some grabs, Dave grabbed his skate pulling off some shuv's and had some close calls falling over the drop but no sign of jumping off it. Now lets get on to Solid jimbob, he had a few attemps at getting up, the boys gave him a few tips , (knees Bent, Arms stright chin up) and he was off ollying over the ledge. GO SOLID GO SOLID! So then it was Dan Jordan's turn, running up and down the bank tweeking his sholder's warming up for the big drop (ha ha i'll stop being sarcastic now). Dan Stepped up the bar and had a go at a spin, his first go at it was pretty impressive but unfortunatly didn't make it, His second attempt was pretty sweet, so close but just crumpled on his landing. So now Dan had stepped up the bar, Tim had to have go at a three but pulled it around to a five.
After the shenanigans, The crew took over the Longlands pub and had a big family sunday dinner.
THE END
